If you're new to Wegener's Granulomatosis, I have some information that might help - click hereFrequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Got some questions? I have a basic FAQ here. What is Wegener's Granulomatosis?
Wegener's Granulomatosis "is an uncommon disease, in which the blood vessels are inflamed (vasculitis). This inflammation damages important organs of the body by limiting blood flow to those organs and destroying normal tissue. It mainly affects the respiratory tract (sinuses, nose, trachea, and lungs) and kidneys. This disorder can affect people at any age and strikes men and women equally."My profile...

Sorry to hear about this new problem... it could be cause by the cytoxan... Take care.
Wrote that post in rather a hurry last night. I actually had a scan done in 2003, a week or so before I had to go to hospital. At that time, I was experiencing the initial, true charm of WG so the enlarged prostate kinda got shoved to one side (much as I'd like to do to it now so maybe I can take less than 2 or 3 minutes to pee LOL). So, to answer your question, there's a chance that there could be something Cytoxan-related there but it's not the whole deal. Thanks muchly for your comments! Is that Jasmine in your pic?
Stumbled on your blog while researching Wegener's. My brother has just been diagnosed this week. Unfortunately, extremely late stage so lungs & kidneys are already affected. They have him in a "sedated coma" and on a ventilator & dialysis trying to allow his body to rest & fight. Staph infection from IV has caused blood infection also. We're on a day by day regimine. I will keep your page bookmarked because I think he'll be interested in chatting when he recovers and is home.
V rollins... Where are you? I have some good Wegener's Granulomatosis links on my page under Vasculitis. Hope your brother is doing better. From my experience, you should not lose hope. I had acute kidney failure and lived through it. I am three years from that first crisis. Under my link medical consultation is a good list of doctors who will consult with your doctor for free. Also I have the WG site for Australia. They can also help you if you in Australia. Anyway good luck ...
Hi V. Rollins!
Your brother's condition sounds very similar to mine - read here.
Go to Cynthia's page too, she has some good info there!
Please keep in touch! Let me know how your brother progresses!
